I've been looking at some of the trex models and was wondering what exatickly eCCPM is and what it's benefits are?

You should be able to find a lot on this by searching on "eCCPM", but basically...

It stands for "electronic cyclic collective pitch mixing". With eCCPM you typically use a swashplate with three balls at 120 degree separation. One servo is attached directly to each ball with a straight pushrod (no mechanical mixing is done).

This serves to reduce slop and complexity in the system. It also gives the servos more authority in both collective and cyclic.

It also requires a transmitter that is capable of being programmed to mix for CCPM (most can these days). Finally, you should expect more stripped servo gears in a crash.

CCPM has never stopped any non-CCPM helicopter (like Raptor or Bergen) from flying 3D either though. :smokin:

Yes people argue which is better. The market and general opinion says eCCPM as 3 servos are working to do the work of one.
