We are pleased to announce the Huntsville Heli Flyers Annual Fun Fly for 2007. Dates are April 27th thru 29th. We are expecting this years event to be a huge one with many pilots already commiting to attend.
More info to come later.
I have gotten some great hotel info today. We have a new hotel being built that is only 4 minutes from the field and fast food resturants within walking distance and it is scheduled to open the 2nd week in April.
This is a Microtel Inn & Suites hotel and if you need a room I think this will be a great one with spacious rooms that is pet friendly.
To make reservations call Tracy at 256-603-6043 or 256-859-0142.
The rates will be
Single queen bed- 45.00
Double queen bed- 59.00
Suite with queen bed and queen sleeper sofa with a kitchenette- 69.00
Make sure you mention the Huntsville Heli Flyers fun fly when making reservations.
If 15 or more rooms and reserved the price for rooms other than the suites will be discounted to 42.00 and 56.00

You can find some info on the back of the flyer on the orginal post. But they are building a new hotel less than 5 minutes from the field with plenty of eating places within walking distance. I sure they will have it finished before the event, I'm hoping to catch someone there soon and talk to them about some discount rooms.

Which hotels besides the one that teeroy mentioned are closest to the field?
If anyone is looking to split a room let me know, I should be flying in on that Thursday.

Any of the motels/hotels on University Blvd ( Hwy 72) are fine. This new one that Troy has mentioned would probably be the only one I would stay that is closest to the field. The other motels that are closest to the field is personally not my choice of places to stay.

Yes David is right, there is some closer to the field other than the new one but I would not stay there myself. The new one is in an industrial park with fast food nearby and it looks like its gonna be a nice one. From what I have seen on their website a room with 2 queen beds is going for about 75.00
