Mod 1 gears

I have an Orbit 30-12 I am going to install in my Logo 14 are the mod 1 gears advised? Or will the mod 0.7 work okay? What is the average life of the 0.7 main gear with this motor?

Mod 0.7 with a 14 or 15 tooth is optimum for L14 on 10S. If you want some big HS go with the 15tooth pinion. The mod 0.7 gear lasts a long time with the Orbit and a 15 tooth, like I would estimate 100 flights + if meshed properly. It only gets to a high wear factor when you get under 11 tooth on the Mod 0.7 gears. Cheers

Yes it defintely gives the range for certain, only in the case of the Actro 24-4 due to the kv range is the Mod 1.0 a better choice, as you get real high on teh pinion mark with .7 in regards to that motor. With the Orbit 30-12 the 15 tooth is the sweet spot I can guarantee you of that, with either the CC or Jazz esc 75% will be in the 2250 rpm mark in hover. :wink:

So are the Mod .7 gear advised for the tail pulley/drive? Does this change the tail to main rotor ratio?

You can do that mod yes, it is simply using the #3000 gear of mod 0.7 on the bottom as well and you would need the Logo 20 front pulley which is mod 0.7 as well. You have to keep in mind if you do this you have to slot froward the bolt holes for adjusting the boom blocks as it will need to move forward to mesh well with the mod .7 gear. The ratio is slightly slower, less than 1% slower is all though. :wink:
