View Full Version : Will new motor solve tail problems?

I have been having problems with my 4G3 ever since I installed the brushless upgrade from Chinesejade. Some playing around with things revealed 2 symptoms: 1. the motor won't start by itself, but rather "cogs" until you give it a flip and 2. if you either give it full collective or hard right on the stick the tail motor completely cuts out. Some further experimentation indicates that, if I remove the rotor itself, neither of these problems occurs. So I'm thinking that a new motor is in order, more powerful as this seems to indicate my current motor lacks the necessary power.

I see that there is both a 2.5g and a 2.9g motor in addition to the 2g model I have. I assume these are indeed more powerful. Any thoughts on whether one or the other of these might be the solution. Note: I am not into 3d, so all I need is something that works for normal flight.

Hi

I use the 2.9g motor which is reputed to be the best choice for the 4G3.

You will need a different sized holder for it. Check out the jjetski designs at clubheli.com. I have one of the original jjetski tail motor holders and it's probably the toughest part on the heli
