Hey guys the other day Im putting my Logo 10 together and needed to install a Saftey Clamp on the hollow main shaft. Well you know how that went, the Saftey Clamp flew into outer space never to return. My question is how did you install that clamp without losing it thanks.

I have a few of those clips in orbit myself. :DOH Lately I've kept some clear gallon size zip lock bags on hand. The clip is installed inside the bag and if (when) the clip goes flying it just bounces around in the bag. A large clear garbage bag should work too if you need to put a larger assembly in it. It's awkward but it works.
Before deciding on the plastic bag approach I considered jumping into the shower stall with the assembly, sans water, close door, stand on the drain and then commence with the wrestling match.

Thats a great idea lakespinner, I tried to put the clamp on according to the manual by spreading it. As soon as my replacements show Im going to give your suggestion a try. This time instead of trying to spread the clamp Im going to place it on the shaft and get the top of my pliers on the top of the clamp and push it down, hopefully that will work.

You can get special pliers for those C-clips. I got mine at a hardware store that sells tools for cars, didnt cost much and made the job a breeze :)
If you cant find the C-clip I would recomend that you get the hardened main shaft. It does not use the C-clip and costs something like $16. Its much harder and will make it easier to disassemble the head later.

I'll vote with Lorents, get the hardened shaft, they are well worth it and almost indistructable.

the man who invented the C Clip was a nut
the man who invented the C Clip pliers was a genius
or you could get the hardened shaft... :D If you do get the pliers, find the one with the 90 degree bend in them so you can work with em easier within the frame.

I personally vote for the hardened shaft also. It comes with a much better mounting system, and mine survived an inverted crash :D.

And a visionary! The C-Clip pliers were invented almost 5 years before the C-Clip!

Miniature Aircraft pilots have been using the plastic bag trick for putting the clips on the washout arm pins for a long time. Works good. They give an extra clip in every kit to replace one if it launches.
