Getting frustrated because my new Blade CP seems to fly and respond perfectly (as perfectly as can be expected) in my living room. but as soon as I take it outside it glitches like crazy.

I am getting random servo twitching, and random power fluctuations, causing it to jump and spin.

I can actually fly it in a decent hover, but have crashed pretty hard 3 times due to glitching.

What is the likely cause of the glitching, do I just need to find a different place to fly. I have tried a few different places and parking lots in the neighborhood, but it seems the same no matter where I am outside.

Again, in the living room I get no glitching at all. but living room is not big enough!!

It's really annoying trying to learn, and actually making progress, but having to rebuild every day because of mysterious glitches.
I am losing my mind!

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

I found mine would go nuts with the stock Tx when even one light on teh power bar went out. Switching to setting upa real Tx solved a lot of problems.

You could be getting microwave interference from somewhere in the area. I have one field where I can't fly due to interference but my friends can fly there fine, so it has to be something near my frequency and not theirs. Try finding a parking lot at least a mile away and see if you still have problems.

One other thing I would check is the antenna wire. In the living room you would have a very close proximity to the bird, where outside you are farther away. You will have to take the 4-in-1 apart to check the solder connection. That also happened to me once. The transmitter also could have a bad antenna connection.

Do you know anybody with a futaba/hitec setup (or another bcp)? Ask if you can try their crystal and radio on your bird. Keep in mind, if you have low band (channel 1-35), theirs also has to be low band. Or high band (36-72). Most of the blades I've seen come channel 17 or 21 (low band). So any low channel can replace another low band setup. Example: my blade came channel 17, my Pico came channel 13. I now have both on channel 21 to match my Futabo Tx. (all low band)

Thanks guys, it does seem like it might be a range, or and interference problem. I will check the antenna connection today while I am rebuilding!
