Can you guys share your L10 setups, the whole 9 yards from ESC, Motor, Servos etc. Im trying to put together an above bottom line setup ie: middle of the road type of setup. Can you also tell me how you use your setup Mild 3D, No 3D or just Fun Flyin, thanks.

tango 45-07 contolled by a jazz 55-10-32 on 10s and a ubec, jr ds3421 servos, 401/9254 on the tail, futaba 148dp receiver
I have been experinmenting with the new a123 cells, very impressed with thier power so far. To compensate for the lower voltage of the a123's I changed to the 138t main gear. As for my skill level, basic flight, loops, rolls, inverted hovering, been working on backward flight and starting to work on more 3d stuff on the sim.

neu 1910/1Y controlled by a CC80 on 6s 3700mAh and a ubec, hitec hs5245mg servos, 401/9254 on the tail, fma fs8 receiver (soon to be dx7/ar7000). headspeed is goverened at 2100rpm on 18T pinion. power to spare. insane for eight minute periods.

Z-Power Z30A 1100kv
CC45
EVO20 6s1p 3700mah
9650's
401/9254
2200 hs, 20t, 6 mins hard 3D
(you can use a smaller pinion for more gentle flying)
-----------------
you can use the Z-Power Z30 1100kv and the Ewatts Pentium 80HV ESC (http://wattsuprc.com.au/product_detail.asp?pid=EW-30HV80) if money's a bit tight. You can look around for lotsa different motor/ESC combo's, but the electronis (ie; servos) and the battery mentioned above, are probably the best out there ATM for the Logo 10

Mostly stock Logo 10 3D with aluminum hex spacers, CHP aluminum motor plate, Mikado 500mm CF blades. Stock tail blades.
Power train:
Medusa 1300 kv Afterburner motor
Castle Creations HV 45 ESC on Heli:fixed endpoints
16t pinion
Evo 20 6S, 3700 packs
Head speed at 2100 rpm
Control:
Medusa 3.5A 5v BEC
Futaba 149 Rx
Futaba S9650 servos
Futaba 401/9254 gyro/tail servo
thundertiger green flybar paddles
This motor is very powerful for it's size and weight. It flys 3D without difficulty; Probably not quite as powerful as a $270 Tango but it weighs less and for $105 it's a very cost effective setup.

Thanks guys for taking the time to post your setups. I do have a slight question, I dont see how you guys are cramming 9650's in the L10 frame without hacking and chopping up your frames

That's exactly how - hack and chop. You'll have to cut a about 2mm from the top and bottom edge of the servo slots for them to fit properly. Some people have found it necessary to slightly shorten the mounting tabs on the 9650 to fit properly, I prefer to us a scrap of 2mm CF as a stand-off, which brings them outboard slighty and also gives you enough clearance from the main shaft. The 9650 is a wee bit too deep and it may rub up agianst the main shaft if you fix it straight to the plastic frame without spacers, rubber grommets or a stand off.

Thanks for the details jrvander, do you know of any mid-priced drop in servos for the L10

FOr the 9650's o use a dremekl to chop n sand off the 4 extra mounting tabs on the servo case. Make mounting a little easier. You can ask Lorents if he still has that piccy of mounting his 9650's into his L10 3D.
Ask johna @ ReadyHeli for some 9650's-he's bound to give u a good deal :D

I'm happy as with my HS5245MG's and they're ten bucks cheaper than the 9650's.

Hey Lorents thanks for posting that pic, thats a CLEAN job youve done of installing the 9650.

I found that using a dremel or whatever to rough cut the slot works well, then I used a wide 1&1/2" cross-cut flat file trims and dresses the edges nicely like hte picuter above. Take your time and go slowly, otherwise you may be ordering a new frame set. You'll have to cut the two side tabs from the 9650 servo as well. Be careful here, it's easy to take off the corner and expose the case screws.

Did you have to shim those servos out a bit so they did not rub the main shaft?
Also, how much is a rebuild kit for the 9650 when it blows up?

Just started a Logo10 upgrade. As soon as I find a way to mount the AR7000 Rx and make a harness for the batteries I should be able to try it out.
Logo 10 deluxe (plastic frames) with upgrades such as bearing instead of bushing throughout, the hardened main and tail shaft and the upgraded tail pitch control system.
stretched boom and 550mm TT blades.
4 9650 servos with a 401 gyro.
CC HV45 esc.
The latest upgrades:
A50 16S hacker motor (490kv), .7mod pinion, spur and tail drive gears.
the motor required some stretching of the frames using a heat gun.
will be using 4 TPX2070 packs in 12s-1p config. looking for 2000-2300 HS
mild 3d and sport flying. will be using this machine to help improve 3d.
