This is the setup I have been using and it seems to work pretty good. The cam runs off of a 9v battery and I wired the receiver to work with a ground battery. The image runs to my camcorder so I can see the general idea of what I am shooting. It was on sale for $84 so I figured I'd try it. I just slide the camera into the hot shoe of my canon dslr, plug the receiver into my batt and camera on tripod and shoot away! Let me know if there is a better way...

Looks pretty cost effective. How well does it work? Any problem with range/static?

so far I am getting great reception at about 300' line of sight. If I am too close to the antennae on the receiver, it gets a little static, but it works farther than I can see my raptor 50. That's far enough for me... :) The 9v transmitter batt lasts about 5 hours straight. The only issue I had was running the rx at 8v. So i just wired it into 12v and so far so good...

I bought a similar setup on eBay for about the equivalent of $US 45, and was happy enough that I bought a second set. For my heli, I have added a 8Db patch antenna and a 5" LCD screen, which sits on a tripod, while for the AP mast, I use a cheap set of VR goggles. (Obviously I can mix & match if running the heli as a 2 man operation)
