I was noticing that my Tail servo (Hitec HS-525BB) was slowing down considerable, so i took it apart reworked, greased, etc. and no cigar.
I went ahead and ordered a new one and just put it on. (Same Kind)

Now I'm noticing that i will not return to the center, i looked through the commands on the Radio (Futaba T6XH) and made sure the rudder offset was at 0 and it was... Don't know what to do, please help!

if you are in heading hold mode it may not return to center. Are you in heading hold mode?

What kind of gyro do you have?

Eric C.

No, the hold is off

move it to another channel on the reciever. For instance the elevator. If it still will not center it is a bad servo.
If it does center normally it is some kind of setting causing it to do this on you rudder.

Also, have you made sure the servo horn is set in the center of the servo splines?

It must be the programming, because it is a new out-of-the-box servo.

The gyro is a GY240

because it is a new out-of-the-box servo.

That does not mean jack. Bad out of the box is possible.
Move it to another channel on the RX to be sure it is not a bad servo first.

ok, i just plugged it into the reciever that bypasses the gyro and it does return to center. What next??

but you still plugged it into the rudder channel? need to move it to another channel to be sure it is a bad servo.

The gyro is a GY240
The gy240 is a Heading Hold only gyro.
In Heading Hold the servo will not center, This is normal.
On the 240 HH can not be turned off.

Since the servo centers when plugged direct into the RX the servo is most likely good.

Always turn on TX first. When you turn on the RX the servo should center, once you move either the heli or the rudder stick the servo will no longer return to center. this is normal.

Can anything be done to fix this, and if so, what??

Get a Gyro with than can run in both HH and Conventional :D

Seriously tho no it's the nature of HH gyros - they are constantly correcting every small movement and will not stop trying to correct until it's happy - on the bench this is 99% impossible - in the air it will be OK

ok, i guess i keep it then. I mean I'm not in dire needs of it, it flies good now, just got through flyin it about 5 mins ago.

Something else went wrong...
i was just hovering it when one of the stickers on the paddles flew off and took off a piece of the thin stuff wrapped around the blades, it's kinda like a super thin plastic material.

What now... :dontknow

Get a set of sceadu paddles. They don't have any film to come off of them.
Part #0403-212
They are a direct fit without any mods and are fully adjustable. Meaning you can add or remove the weights in them to taylor the feel to your liking.

if you are not an advanced flyer leave all the weights installed. As your flying progresses you can remove one or both weights to spped up the cyclie rates.

How much you think those run about. $$ ?

And how about that blade

$18.13 here.

The blade stuff thet got ripped is the shrink wrap. The blades should be re-covered and balanced or replaced. That is the proper and safest thing to do. If the shrink wrap comes completley off it will throw the blades out of balance and could do some major damage to the heli.

I have seen people use some tape or decals to cover torn blade shrinkwrap and rebalance them but this is not the safest idea.

thnx alot!!

I'm thinking about doing a whole upgrade on the heli

Do you have any ideas about what to upgrade and prices to do it?

You already heva a ZXX so no upgrades are needed to make it fly well. Best thing to get is more fuel!

The gy240 is a Heading Hold only gyro.

I used to fly the 240, and could manually change between HH and proportional (standard). Unless it has changed he should be able to do this as well. I think if you turn AVCS Off you'll find the servo centers normally.

You were right, it centered as normal. :)

I know, the heli does fly like a bat out of hell, but i just want a little more beef on it, too much plastic...

Good. But you do realize that AVCS is heading hold (right?). So you may want to turn it back on to fly. In heading hold mode you don't normally expect the servo to center. You expect it to go wherever it needs to to cause the heli to point where you told it to. When it's sitting on the ground it just won't cooperate and point there (without the rotors spinning). If you move the heli by hand you can see the servo go to center (and beyond - if you turn it past where it thinks it should be pointing). So it sounds like all is well with your servo, and gyro (in both modes).

Yeah, I was reading the gyro manual and found out what it all was.

Now just trying to set up the heli for inverted flight!! (With much practice on the simulator first!! )

Excellent. You're gonna have a lot of fun. If you can find someone to put you on a trainer cord you'll really have a blast. It's like a simulator with a real heli. I've done that with a couple of friends recently.
