I wish I could get a 90 as well. :( I think I'll have my hands more than full enough with my new 6HV FBL, but it would be totally kickass to have the full lineup of Compass helis!

they should do an Odin revamp like the 3d plus. I think it should have metal grips considering it's a .90

Thnx... All ;)

I just fitted the swash servo's , gyro and tail servo..... i now have to wait for some parts to arrive..including some sleeving for the gyro and tailservo cables. I'm gonna connect the fan to a channel on the receiver, and mix it with my throttle channel. Above 20% is fan On... and i think a switch to manual turn the fan on when throtlle=0 ..... My 9ZHP should be able to do that. I bought a pico switch for that purpose ... (my fan is now on 3s and full speed)

I await some parts tomorrow, and some thursday.... hopefully i have enough time to set it up before the weekend...

Does anybody fly the odin with a spartan gyro ?
I'm curious witch hole you use on the servo arm... 11 mm ?
And second... i flew my other heli's not set up in rate mode, but with the slider centered...
What is your setup ?

Almost finished !!!

Wat's left to do :

- Finetune the head.
- Setup the governor....

Not much space under the canopy.... but it all fits nicely....

The maiden will be this weekend...

It has been a while... It did fly !! for a few sec's

I have a bad taildrift. Looks like there is a lot of vibrations comming from the engine...
Does anybody recogonise the problem ? and knows how to solve em ? Tried just about everything...

Mr. Tinus,

CONGRATULATIONS!

I too, have just become the proud father of an Odin (an Odin II, actually).

It does have metal blade grips and Bell/Hiller mixing arms, as was mentioned above, also CF frames.

It looks like a 6HV on steroids!.

Mine is not yet ready to fly, I just got the engine installed yesterday, also the boom and head on it. There is a small chance that it will be ready sometime over the weekend, but I do not want to rush it. I am now hopeful it will make it to the HeliFreak Fun Fly (that should allow me to field a Knight Pro, a Knight 3D, an Atom 500, a 6HV, and the Odin).

As far as the tail drift goes, what type of foam tape are you running to attach the gyro? That has a big influence on gyro performance. The engine running rich during break-in, might be part of the cause of the drifting (they vibrate more while four-cycling).

You might try setting the gyro up in rate mode, I will be running the Futaba GY520 that was in my 6HV, prior to its conversion to Flybarless. With the GY520 it is very important to set it up in rate mode. I have one Spartan, and it did not require being set up in rate mode. It is more likely the vibration that is causing the drift.

Just curious...Why two lipos?

Mr. Tinus, first off congratulations on your new heli! I hope I'm not yet too late for my concern. I also run two lipos on both my Odins. 3S 800mah for the fan and 2S for the lot. I did not use the ESC which came with the kit but rather a 12amp ESC to control the fan via an aux channel on my DSX9. If you have the same set up as mine, I hope that you did not forget to cut the red wire (positive) coming from the ESC towards the RX.

I'm using a Spartan on one and set it up on rate mode. Ball is at 17mm. You may want to start at 13mm.
