im getting sick and tired of the battery life in my 6102.
so im thinkin of putting an 11.7 volt 1800 mah lipo in it.
i take a reading on the lipo and it reads 12.4 volts.
will that be ok or with the 12.4 volts fry my TX?
:dontknow

If it is Spectrumized, you need to do the votlage regulator mod.

We all run lipos in our 9303 Tp2100 3cell fits perfect, fly forever..

11.7V lipo ? Did you mean 11.1V 3S1P 1800mAh ? I think that the Tx is designed to allow for the use of Alkaline cells which are 1.5V x 8 = 12V under load (fresh and unloaded up to 1.58Vx8=12.64V). Your lipo at full charge should be 12.6V so should be fine. If you are concerned you can put a diode in series with the battery. This will drop approx 1.2V and hence ensure you are not stressing the Tx electronics any more than with a freshly charged NiCd pack.
As mentioned above, changing from a linear regulator to the dimensionengineering switching regulator will approximately double your run time. My DX6 went from ~3hrs to ~7hrs. The switching reg is rated to 30V input so no worries with the lipo if you still want to use it. The combination of the switching reg and the lipo should give you around six to seven times the runtime of your current 600mAh NiCd, say 20hrs. That ought to be enough. :)

I wonder if you can take other JR radio's like the xf-622 and just replace the RF board with the DX6 board? mmmm

I mean 2100Tp 3cell works forever doing it for over a year :glasses2:

It has been done with 8103 and 9303 radios. Several threads over on RC Groups. Also non-JR radios.
JR is easiest since the DX6/7 are based on JR radios.
With some higher channel radios you may need to put a circuit inline to truncate teh signal to 6 channels. There is a thread on RC Groups about doing this.

Does anhyone know ifs its possible to use the lp5dsm transmitter fromt heblade cp2 for the spektrumizing process?

Perhaps, but that Tx is only 5ch and the "LP" prefix stands for "Low Power". You definitely wouldn't want to use it for anything you want to fly more than about 100m away.

Im new to the conversion process, but wouldnt putting the module in the 6102 increase the power into the tramitter module.

NO. It is not a matter of the power supply to the module it has to do with the RF power amplifier design on the module itself.

I see. Well back to the drawing board.
Guess its back to finding a dx6 for spektrumizing my 6102.

I guess if you can pick one up very cheaply, otherwise you would be much better off selling your 6102 and buying a DX7. You can get them for under US$270 (Tx + AR6100, no servos) or around $320 (Tx + AR7000 + servos) and sell off the servos and ar7000 if you don't want them.
You will end up with a far superior solution in terms of features, performance, usability and flexibility that will ultimately have better resale value.
Given the recent announcement of Spektrum modules for JR/Futaba/Hitec modular transmitters, I bet there will be a few good second-hand DX7 coming on the market as those users get a module so they can go back to their fancy 8/9/12/14 channel Tx.

Thank you for the insight. It's greatly appreciated. I might just hold off for a few months to see what the used transmitter market is like before attempting a purchase.
