Having second thoughts on the motor. What do you guys think about a Neu 1912/1.5Y on a 10 cell Lipo??

Input please.

Thanks,

Jeremy

The 1912-1Y is more powerfull than the 1.5Y series. Wht second thoughts? That is waht I am installing on mine, I expect it to be fine. :dontknow

will the servos that come with th DX7 be good for this heli?

(if not what are they good for?)

Sounds like a good setup to me. Lucky you to have the tail box, those are getting very hard to come by since Craig hurt his back.

Yes, I know the cforcht tail box is awesome!! I'm very lucky to find it about 8 months ago.

I'm almost done with the airframe build. So far everything has gone together very nice. The only complaint i have is that the manual sucks really bad and needs a serious redoing ASAP. Outside this I'm very happy thus far.

I am using the dx7 servos i mine. So far they have been fine for sport flying. If i was a 3d hack or hero i would swap to something better.

I will be running Futaba 9252 and a 9254 on the tail.

If you are going to run a rx lipo up front just keep in mind that you will then need to run your tr servo on the boom and not in the front default location. Due to cg, this heli is right on the edge and a lipo over 600mah up front tips it over, even with a 10S1P all the way back, it is "nose heavy" by nature. I certainly do not see 12S being easy to balance, I think they should have developed it being able to keep the lipo ahead at least an inch to allow for some add ons or heavier stuff, kind of a dissapointment imho.

With my new lower frames i have plenty of space to move.
It surprised me that TT were so short sighted in this regard :arggg:

Yea they built it with too much weight up front, that is for 100% certain. The tray needs to be a full inch to 2 inches back, then it would be much easier to baalnce out and config things to your liking.

I see you are running the DX7 Ozace, I have one as well, only issue I have or at least can not yet figure out is why I can not get the failsafe positions to stick, very strange. I set the tx for its' positions do exactly as manual says and when I replicate a loss of signal by turning off tx it stays in same position before turning off radio, not to center where I set them,,,,,Only way I found to bind the rx was to stick the bind plug in the batt input channel and not use the switch thing like in manual as it did nothing and the rxs never woulod flash with that method....

I havent worried about fail safe, i have supreme confidence  :bomb:
Binding i did by using the bind plug directly into the RX, worked a treat.

After reading lots of posts on this subject. (it only means that this seems to be the majority thinking on this) I have come to the conclusion that all channels except the throttle stay where they were last commanded. The throttle goes to the position is was in when the receiver was bound to the Tx. This should agree with your testing.

Correct guys, just the way the manual states it, leads you to believe it would goto the positions set during the fail safe procedure, not last known.

I have some questions...

Why do my servos buzz? Tried everything to get them to stop doing it but can't.

Do those plastic white rudder linkage holders going down the boom really help or just cause binding?

Should i run a Z-Power or NEU Motor? Why?

Digi servos tend to buzz when they try to centre, with push pull setups sometime the linkages can be a tiny bit different and the servos buzz against the load. I have noticed some servos are much worse than others, but it is not unusual.

cant helo with the rudder linkage holders, i have never tried without them.

Run a Z-motor, it costs less and performs very very well.
If you have money burning a hole in you pocket Neu makes very nice motors. Just make sure it is a fanned version.
