View Full Version : My Aveox motor is super noisy...high pitch squeal normal?

I have an Aveox 46/30/3 motor on my Logo 20. It has always had a high pitch sound, but now it is much louder. Is this a sign that it is ready to explode? Does it need some kind of lube or ???

could it be the pinion slipping on the motor shaft?

I've never had the pinion off that motor....it's possible. I bought the heli used...I don't even know whether or not the shaft is notched. I'll check it and post results. Thanks,

I pulled it off and it doesn't seem scored where the set screw hits the shaft. I notched it just in case and got a new Jazz ESC. Seems to run much smoother with the Jazz...was using a Hacker Master 48-0 heli.

It would most likely have some marks if it was slipping. Maybe it was the timing, I have seen motors on planks that were not happy at a particular frequency and made a bunch of weird noise.

That's what I was thinking. It also had a rough/erratic startup with the other ESC. The Jazz seems to have cleared things up.
