it ought to do pretty good. I used a Nikon Coolpix L1 (6mp)for about the last 8 months with great results.

Something it's lacking is a shutter speed priority so early morning and sunset shots will likely be a bit blurry.

I think the Blip trigger works with this camera as well.

If you have that camera, it will be OK to use. I had one and took it back.

If you don't have that camera, save your self some money and go get an Canon A620, or A640 and you will be much happier.

Much better quality glass will provde bettery quality settings, and better exposure control on the Canon's. Shutter priority, aperture priority, full manual, much faster frames per second in continuous mode.

I swear if you look cross at the mode dial on the Nikon P3 or P4, it will rotate to a different mode all by itself.

So if you try mounting a servo to this thing for shutter, you will be forever bumping that mode switch, and it won't power up if the mode switch is not exactly "on" a setting.

Blip trigger will work on A620 and A640. Canon boned the A630 users as it does not support remote capture so the blip cannot be used with it.

What's a "blip trigger"?

It's a circuit board that can control the shutter on certain compatible cameras via their usb ports. You can read all about it here...

www.blip.com.au

All the info you'll need should be in that thread.

Thanks for the link...I didn't want to wade through the whole thread to find the info. I know....I'm lazy...but it was a very long thread.
