Hello all. As my subject line says, I'm brand new here. I've never had anything RC before but I love helicopters and actually make my living on one. I've been dying to get a good RC helicopter for ages and finally decided to stop procrastinating and buy something. I didn't want to spend a thousand dollars of my families money to start out so I did a lot of reading and studying on the 'net to try and educate myself before purchasing what I felt would be a good startup package. I still couldn't figure it out so I called and talked to a guy at Heliproz. He was super nice and ultimately suggested this package.

Any thoughts from some of you experienced folks? I bought 1 extra battery of the same type with the package. Should I get anything else? I thought about buying a decent blade balancer to use when I build it. I downloaded all of Bob's (Finless) videos and watched them all. I can't wait to get home to start working on it. I work all over the country and I'm away right now but my wife said my Heli was delivered the other day. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome to HeliFreaks!
Quick suggestions:
1. Go Slow - Rushing will cost you more $$
2. Use Radds School of Rotary Flight - it's Free!! http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html
3. Consider a Flight Sim - Good to train your thumbs and get orientation down to a reflex. Depending on your budget there are LOTS of choices from nearly free up to a few hundred dollars.
4. When in doubt, STOP, Ask, Understand, Continue

I'm not a guru here..I'm just parroting what I'm currently learning. I'm new too.

Again.. Welcome :)

Welcome to HF mrlysle you'll get tons of info here if you want it of not lol jk. I would say browse the different boards on HF and see what they have to offer. You'll pick up lots of info just by looking around. Thats a good package to start with, the T-Rex is one of the most popular helis Ive seen around and you'll have lots of company if you run into any problems.

When you start building your Rex and have any questions feel free to post em in the T-Rex forums and remember there are no dumb questions because Ive already asked them all lol.

Helifreak is a great community to talk helis and get assistance so enjoy your stay with us.

Welcome and be ready for the addicting and intoxicating affects of this hobby.

Everyone on this board is great and is always willing to help. Ask questions and ask many. Learn from the mistakes that we have made. My first biggest mistake was not listening to people who told me to get a sim.

Well, after a couple hundred dollars in parts, I bought Realflight G3 (up to G3.5 now) and after a couple weeks my flying got much better.

Get a SIM!!

Enjoy and happy landings.
