Has anyone tried charging Blade CP Pro batteries using Intellipeak ICE instead of the Eflite charger it comes with?

If yes, what connections did you use and what settings on the charger? :?:

I'm rather new at using Li-Po batteries and don't wanna end up with an exploding battery.

I have used a Great Planes Triton and a Astroflight 109D chargers on my Blade CP Pro battery. The Triton is like the Intellipeak ICE.

To charge with the Intellipeak ICE you will charge thru the red connector. The charger should be set to 11.1 volts in the Li-ion or Li-Poly battery type. The amps should be set to .8 amps or lower.

If you are going to use the ICE charger I would either get a balancer or charge with the E-Flite charger to keep the cells in balance. Also do not charge the battery unattended.

Thanks for the info.

Is there a balancer add-on for the ICE or is that a completely separate piece of hardware?

I use both my Triton and my TP1010C for charing my CP's batteries. I only use TP 3S 1320s on my CP but do have one E-flite pack I now use as an Rx pack in a plank. It gets charged by the same charger(s)

All packs have been converted to Dean's Ultra plugs BTW

I use a Astroflight blinky which is a stand alone balancer that plugs into the white connector on the Blade CP Pro battery. It can be used before, during or after charging the battery.

Great Planes has a Equinox balancer that goes between the charger and the battery balancing connector for charging. But I do not know if they have a connector that is compatible with the Blade CP Pro battery's white balancing connector.

The other option is just use the charger that came with the Blade CP Pro every few charges to balance the battery again.

I would recommend getting away from the stock EFlite charger as soon as you are able. My experience suggests the stock charger stops when any of the three cells hits 4.2v, leaving the other cells where they are. I had one pack going south becuase of this with the middle cell falling further and further behind.

I'm now using a DN14, which brought that pack back in one charge. It also charges faster with an adjustable charge rate (don't charge your packs over 1C), and does my TRex packs as well. At $60 it wasn't overly expensive, and gives me a lot more peace of mind when charging.

A Cellpro 4S is another good option for about the same price.
