I want to say yes, they are the same. I have never purchesed a "zoom" main shaft but, At one point in time I had a 36b. And I used a 3dx-400/shogun/zoom/36b main shaft witch is sopose to be the same as a "zoom" main shaft and it was fine. The only thing you will see that differs on the shafts is were the washout base is. There is a small black tab that the pitch control is attached to. The pitch slider is actually screwed in to this black (wedge?) form the center of the shaft. This black tab can be a snug fit on some other machined shafts. You will want to file, with a very fine metal file. Shave down the wedge a little at a time till it fits just right. Dont take to much off though. This wedge shouldnt be tight or it could hinder the operation of the pitch control.

Use the Walkera one, they are cheap and made of steel, the zooms are aluminum and bend like butter. I have bought the so called hardened shafts and they are no stronger than the stock walkeras.

I have the same question, I have the shogun v2 (3dx-400) with the full cnc upgrade package and the main shaft is bent. It says it is steel but a magnet will not attatch to it. I need a stronger one. This is the head that is on my heli...

The pitch slider connects the same way that you were describing in an earlier post with the black wedge through the slot. My shaft measures in at 5mm x 99mm the top of the slot for the pitch slider wedge is 17.5mm from the top and extends down to 30.5mm from the top. There is a hole through the shaft that a screw goes through to hold the blade grip assembly on and its center is 5mm from the top and is through the shaft in the opposite direction as the pitch slider slot. If anyone can check these measurements against this "steel shaft" that you are refering to and let me know where to buy it I would oh so greatful. I am new to helis and need the help.

I have a heli of the same set up and the main shaft. I use the one im speaking of(Never need to change it, no crashes on this frame) But I hear the one with the CNC head is soft. So iput the "strong main shaft" in from the get go. But I dont think many will actually attach to a megnet for one reason or another. http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_60&products_id=1410 Hope this link is ok. Im using it for reference. And the head in the link you supplied is the one I switched the shaft in for. Just rember about the pitch slider. :)
Hope this info helps.

I have the same head and the shaft that came with it bent very easily on a hard landing, No other damage done. I ordered the strong steel shaft with longer pitch slot from the same site and it bent easily too. The best I have used are the OEM Walkera shafts. I bought 4 at 3 dollars each and haven't needed the spares. A magnet does stick to them, if it doesn't it is probably aluminum. Get some spare main shaft sleaves to as the slider blocks tend to split after a few reassemblies.

is this the link to the main shaft that you suggest I use? and it will for sure fit on the full cnc head?
