The frames are here, the heli is built (with a twist), and the first test flights have been taken.
I talked to Charlie on the phone, he gave me a few pointers on the frames assembly and then the wait began.
Once they showed up the stock Align carbon frames came off (they are for sale btw). Everything went together without a hitch and Charlie's pointers were used with servo arm alignment. Its a snap, required 0 trim. After I tracked the 550's(yes, 550's) there are no vibes. Even with the 550's it feels light on 8s, the servos seem to be just fine on 6v.
Then the flight test. I pushed it as hard as I could. Staying hard on the collective, tictocs, rainbows, hard climbouts everything held up just fine. I will keep flying this way until something breaks or... well lets not think about that.
I'm liking this setup, with Charlie's other mods to this frame-set it will be a great option.
Great job Charlie !
I will keep flying this combo on 8s to get the most flight time I can on it keeping it my primary bird. I hope to put in at least 2-3 flights a day on it. I have to give props to Charlie, he doesn's want to release a design until hes confident it will hold up.
Thanks Charlie !

DS3421
Torque 65oz
Speed 0.18
Kinda slow like all JR servos hehe
I think the Hitec is the nicest, fairly fast and more torque on 6V.

I was thinking of going the other way hehe. Lighter frame, bigger motor and batts and 620mm blades. Lighter loading would be sweet.

Nice!
Will it fit 10s1p 3700's down in the frame (laying on the bottom of the frame)?
Ticidytoc

Yes it will let the 10s1p lay flat down the center of the frames. Its snug, but they fit.

:lolol That is the most perfect main frame i have ever seen...
What servo did you use for swash? There is not much room left for servo´s due to main shaft. I guess the servos cant be very deep..

Yes the arms are part of the kit.
It's darn near a logo 14 conversion, and there's definitally nothing wrong with that !
Note the similar layout on the logo:

Well.... I just met Tickidytoc out at the field and got to fly his 550.
All I can say is what a little POCKET ROCKET.... Flew very well and was QUICK MAN... I really enjoyed it. Power to weight ratio was very good and I felt no issues with 9650 servos on cyclic. IT was quick and very fun!
Needless to say the Rotorworkz frame is going to offer all kinds of possibilities like this. It's going to be a platform to play with all kinds of setups!
Matt's is a 30 sized Electric and without a doubt AND the BEST 30 sized out there.
No we need to try these frames on a 600mm blades, 8S, and 4350 for good long duration.
Matt... you have a VERY fun heli there! It's a keeper for sure and it makes me want to do one like that.

Bob, your flight on it took back 2150mAh in the 4 minutes.
Something that may be interesting to try on it would be the stock 6s setup and some FP4350's.
It would be 150g lighter with an AUW of 6lbs 9oz.

Matt, it was fun... time to kick the timer up man!
2150 is all? FP packs can take more than that :)

Bob I sent you all my RotorWorkz stuff today for the 10s monster, along with some 8s pack setups in 4350 and 4900 for you to test with Frank on his 8s 600. Should be there very soon.
Glad to see all the testing going well. Yes we are mainly testing NEU motors now, but we would like to do Pletti's, ACTRO's, and Hackers as well. It will happen sooner or later. ;)
