What are the differences between running a 60k cateye in a 60m-c carb with a cline regulator from james and running the stock cateye in it?
Im running the 60k as thats what he said was running best but the m-c has a bit bigger opening... just wondering if it would have any affect on performance if I switched them...

Many people run the min needle closed on the 60M-C
So with a 60K you *may* get the use of the mid needle back

If you are using a 60K and it's working - leave it alone - fly her!

The OMI BB carb actually is .2 mm more bore than the 60M-C.

There are some cool side-by-side comparison pictures of the 60K vs. 60M-C on Jerry Sudimick's gallery over on RR. It shows several cateye photos and explains a bit about why we use the 60K cayeye in the 60M-C with the Cline.

I tried the 60M-C first but I was not able to get the mid lean enough. When I switched to the 60k cateye, I had lots of room to play with the mid, but the low is on the lean side. Basically its a trade off.

Different fuels, mufflers etc means that people will have different needle settings. Most people are running the 60M-C cateye with the mid closed so they are right on the edge. If you can get the 60M-C cateye to work (meaning the mid is lean enough) I would probably choose it over the 60k because then you wouldn't have the engine running lean at idle. On the other hand if you already are using the 60k cateye and have no problems with it then I wouldn't bother switching. You are not gonna gain any power.

Ok thanks. I found my 60m-c cateye I took out when I put the 60k in it and was wondering about it. Right now my midrange is over 1 turn out, so is the high end and the low end is wide open and idles perfectly. I dont think im gonna screw with it. :)
