Borrowing this from RADD. His pages are for a Eco heli. I'm wanting to ensure I have everything covered for a T-Rex. I plan to print this out and laminate it to have with me when I go fly.

1. Make sure the switch is off on your Helicopter (switch? I don't remember a switch?? eco only?)
2. Load battery , do not connect wires.
3. Tug the tips on the Main blades to center them and to aid them in spinning up.
4. Turn on the Transmitter.
5. Set throttle hold or Throttle Lock on your TX.
6. Double check that the switch on heli is off .
7. Plug up Battery.
8. Double check throttle hold switch on TX.
9. Switch on Helicopter.
10. Wait for Gyro to initialize (how will I know when it's done?)
11. Rotate and test Cyclic controls.
12. Set your tail. ( flick the rudder several times back and forth until the tail blades are straight up and down. This helps set the gyro for flight.)

We have alot of experience on these boards and I'm looking to gather gems that have saved pilots from problems. I don't want an incident to end with the statement "If only I had done/checked x before I took off".

Some ESCs have a switch, the ones commonly used on the Trex don't.

With GY401 when the light stops blinking and goes steady it is ready to go. IIRC it takes aobut 3 seconds. Of course mounted upside down under the boom, you can't see the light. So I let the ESC go through its tones.

I see no reason for 12.
