Logo 10 Mod .7 Main Gear Mod.!!!

Hi,

IMO the Mod .5 gear is not strong enough for the power systems we're using these days , so I decided to try the L14 Mod.7 gears , Check it out:

Been flying mine this way for a while now too. I did the mod because I am trying out 10s of a123 cells and wanted to compensate for the lower voltage. I love the power this set up gives me, with my streched tail and 550 blades it's really sweet.

Yep, I'm waiting for my L14 boom, belt & rod (courtesy of Shawn :D ) and I'll be trying 550's soon.

The Neu is working good , very smooth , I'll let you know soon how it works with 7s geared @ 11.5:1

I just ordered the parts (3000, 3001 and .7 pinion w/6mm id) to change my brothers and my plastic framed stretched logo10's to .7mod gear setups. We also ordered the new A50 16S 10 pole hacker motors to test out. We will be running them on 12s-1p (4 2100s) with a headspeed between 2000 and 2300 depending on how much time we get on the setup. The only thing I am concerned about is if the new parts will fit in the plastic frame set. I plan on doing a slight frame stretch to get the motors in... :D

I don't think you'll have any problems , maybe a little dremel here and there , if you go the Mikado webpage you'll see that a few of the Team pilots are using the Mod.7 main gear on their L10's.

You shouldn't have any problems snoopy. The Mod.7 gears were a drop in replacement in my plastic framed Logo10 (stretched). Planning on putting in some flights this weekend :).

Hey Bobby, I have both a 19 and 20tooth mod .5 pinions new in the bags that I don't need anymore since I ended up installing mod .7's. Let me know if you still need one of the two or both.

Tried 7s today , it was very powerful but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra weight , I don't think there's too much power difference between 6s and 7s , I have to try it again with the 550's.

The gear mod worked perfect.

Hey guys, one thing I did do differently was to install the .7 tail drive gear with both washers at the top (instead of one at top, one at bottom). This was to get the tail gear to sit lower to better engage the teeth in the main gear. Anybody else had to do this?

Good info epc, I think I'll stick with 6S (when I order them). Right now flying on 5S. Looks like the flights will have to wait until after Christmas :roll:. BTW, Merry Christmas!

You back in the game? You should come down on the 20th to the funfly. We're flying Sunday as well, if the weather is OK. Give me a call...

I always do the double washer up top as well, as the tail input pulley needs to sit lower.

The other thing the 0.7 mod gearing does is open up a few more ratios. I was more able to find a good gearing combination by going up to the 0.7 mod.
