I know I shouldn't say this, but coming from Raptors, this thing is awesome looking, I dare say it's cute! LOL
I've got some basic questions that will make me sound like an idiot, but I"m new to these little birds and brushless set ups. So be kind.
First, I've got the himaxx 2025 and CC25. I hate to ask this, but how do you guys solder the motor leads that came w/ the himaxx? I'm an idiot, but I just don't see how the wire is s'posed to be attached. Does it go thru the little hole or what?
2nd, do you guys use like little ball link pliers on these things? Or does someone make special little ones for them? Where?
3rd, do you lube the main shaft where the collective slides up and down? Or just leave it be?
Please post any assembly do's and dont's that you can think of. I did read the tips and tricks post. Very handy. Thank you.

Well, then you ought to fit right in with this crowd!

The motor already has leads on it. It comes with little gold-plated "bullet" connectors. These get soldered onto the ESC leads. One mine, I matched the color wires and the rotation is the correct direction. If it's reversed, just swap any two wires.

I use standard ball link pliers. The only place I've needed them is where the pitch rods snap onto the blade grips. They work just fine there.
do you lube the main shaft where the collective slides up and down?
A couple drops of 3-in-1 probably wouldn't hurt. But don't overdo it.
If you fly off of grass, be sure to set up throttle hold and use it when landing. Your tail gears will thanks you.

Ya, OK, I knew I didn't ask that question right. Yes, my motor leads do have connectors on them. What I was wondering about were the little bullet leads that go onto the ESC wires. Can you explain how you did it? Did you just stick the lead into the hole in the end? Or are you s'posed to use the little hole on the side some how? Thanks,

The end of the ESC wire goes into the hole in the end of the bullet connector. I'm not sure what the holes in the side are for, but they do help getting plenty of solder onto the connection. Maybe that is what they're for, after all?
You need to make that connection as solid as possible (lots of solder). A weak solder joint here will wreak havoc on your electronics.

Thanks for the help, that is what I figured but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some neat trick or something.
So btw, what is the 24 hr hot line # for help anyway? Thanks,
j
I would recommend this process for soldering the wires:
First tin the end of the wires comming from the speed control. If you're not into soldering, basically heat the wires up with the soldering iron and apply just enough solder to wick into the wire, don't leave any blobs.
Hold the bullet connector with the solder cup facing up. In my case the connectors fit perfectly into a hole pre-cut into one of my tools so I used that, anything to hold it upright. Heat up the connector and then flow solder into the connector itself.
Once that looks good put the soldering iron tip into the hole on the connector and melt the solder in the connector. Insert the wire into the connector and give it time to heat up and the solder on it to melt. Remove the heat and let it cool, don't let the wire move while it is cooling or you will get a cold solder joint (which results in poor electrical conductivity) and need to redo this last step again.
