Thrust Bearings for the tail, alu motor plate, but something you should DEFINATELY look into are the alu hex spacers.

Also look at the CHP motor mount-looks lighter (and better ) than the Esprit one.

(same price as the Esprit, n u can get in from CHP or ReadyHeli)

Also i you have the deluxe Logo10, maybe you could get a full bearing set to put in the washout and LLS/seesaw.

One thing to be aware of is Nennos tail case does not come with enough shims to space it side to side with no slop, furthermore the thin .10mm washers are not shaved down to avoid rubbing the outer race. A dremel and some patience cure this but thought people should know. I had to use 3 more .10 shims from my spares collection to make the fit good side to side to have "no play". Then again I am pretty anal about no slop and perfection, I spend hours fiddling to get things 100%.

Is the Mikado Carbon open tail upgrade better than the Nennos Shawn?

Is the Mikado Carbon open tail upgrade better than the Nennos Shawn?

In the sense that you can use the supplied .10-.28 shims yes and the fact that it does fit well. If you are using the stock plastic boom holders make sure to sand below them so they do not slip, this is why I ran the metal ones as I found the plastic ones would slip once in awhile. The Mikado one works well, only beef with it is the flange bearings, they are of course 2mm less width than the stock bearings or the ones you use in the Nennos case "stock" as well. So the load is spread across a thinner bearing etc,,, I never had one blow out or anything but I just feel better fo course with a wider bearing, especially "back there". I am trying the Nennos cases here soon to make a better determination myself. Like I said though you need "extra" shims over what is supplied with the Nennos case and you "should" sand or file or grind down the most inner one to avoid hot bearings etc...

Will here are pics of what I am talking about. I bought the boom clamps as you see "metal" to ensure that the case does not slide forward and sits exactly where you place it. The second pics are the Nennos case and the one in the pic has 6 shims total, the case only comes with 4 total, also note the small aluminum standoffs behind the fin to the clamp, I had to get those extra from Volker as he does not include them with the case which I feel is silly, but you can use just plain M3 washers as well. One last thing is the Nennos tail case will "NOT" work with the Mikado CF boom as the boom has too small of an id. You have to use the MS Composite boom if you wish to run a cf boom with this case, the stock aluminum boom however is fine.

Wow, lots of posts the last two days here...

Shawn, the Nennos box that I got from you came with three shims. Weird that yours didnt :dontknow

The Mikado CF tailbox is really cool, but its also quite heavy. When I replaced the CF tailbox with Nennos box and changed the alu boom with the lighter MS CF boom I could slide the 10S packs 1/2 inch further back :)

The stock plastic tail box is even lighter than the Nennos box, so performance wise it would be the best choice :?

Lorrents yours had spacers becuase I paid extra for em, the case does not come with them, . None the less did you have to use more than the supplied shims to have no side to side play? I certainly did on both of mine. And yes the stock case honestly is best, I however really like seeing my belt and being able to observe any wear and the tension.

Ah, that explains it - thanks for the extra shims! I think I had to use two of them with the stock plastic pulley to make it slop free.

I also like having the belt visible - and its easier checking the tension with the open tail boxes :)
