Well Bob
As I am nearing (yeah, I know its taking a while) the battery to heli phase, I watched your TP vids, finally. I cant thank you enough! The manual for these things suck so bad, and you made it SOOOOOOO easy!!

FINLESS is my hero....... I am even going to dedicate a new swashplate paint scheme just for you

I really dont know what I would have done without you and your vids. I probably would have figured it out, but would have taken a while and probably damaged something...... All your vids (regarding the rex450se and this charger) have been SOOO helpful.... I just cant say "thank you" enough.....

I'll second this, except that I am SURE that I would have damaged something. Thanks Bob.

Who'd of thought there would be science to battery charging...

Hey Bob, had a question about the 1010c and the 210V charger. I have two Mega Power 3S 2200 Mah batteries from China. They obvious will not adapt to the balancer. Is there an adaptor that I can use so I may balance the Mega Power Batteries use the Thunder Power balancer?

Since I dont know HOW the Mega Power balancer plug is configured I have no idea what adapter will work! Sorry but best bet might be to ask Mega Power?

Bob,

Is there a reason you do not discuss charging batteries at 3C? I know that its supposed to be possible to charge at 3C when using the combination of the balancer and charger.

Hi,
Question on Batteries.... I have Thunder power batteries, 1010c charger, 210 balancer. I am not sure how I am surpose to take care of these lipo's. I don't want or have the time to charge these batteries just before I go fly. I know your surpose to keep the batteries at around 11.6 v to store my 11.1 batteries. Can I keep these batteries fully charged so I can fly when I find time??I did buy a lipo sack for safety. Not sure how most people take care of the batteries so they can fly when ever possible?

Thanks
Rick F

While this is only my personal opinion....

For Joco, yes I know you CAN charge at 3C but so you know and I heard this directly from a manufacturure IT WILL reduce life of the cells... By how much was said but it does... i personally DO NOT charge at 3C but I do charge at 1.5C.

ric4nier, again personal opinion but I do charge my packs right away and leave them stored. I do this ONLY if I plan to fly in the near future. I think what they really mean is if your going to not be using them for like a month then store them 50% charged. I will charge mine the evening after flying if I plan to fly the nest weekend or the weekend after that... Any longer and I will only charge them to 50%... Just how I do it myself.

When I spoke with the manufacter of the Flightpower packs he said something to the affect of

While the Evo 30 packs are 3C "capable" that does not mean it is "recommended"

Thanks Bob for help ....Flew my trex yesterday first time and it flew great! Just getting back into flying after some 12 years or so, electric flying got me back in, couldn't of done it without your videos and the dx7 video.

Couple more battery questions, still new to electric flying. I flew my trex 450 for about 8 minutes each pack. I have thunder power batteries 11.1 2100 and the 1010 charger and 210 balancer. I put the battery on the charger and it read 11.2 when I started to charge, now can I go lower than that say 10.5 or so and fly longer ?? what is the max that I can take off these batteries each flight. I charge them to 12.6 on a full charge.

That brings me to this question, can I use the quick charge on the charger to save time. It took almost an hour for each pack to full charge? In order to use the 210 balancer I guess I have to keep buying the thunder power batteries so they plug in the balancer. I did buy another pack that was half price and works fine but it doesn't plug into my 201 balancer?

Thanks again

You should use the 80% rule... That is your packs are 2100ma so 80% is 1680... So fly say 6 minutes and see what the 1010 charger says went back into the packs after it's done charging. Keep increaseing flight time until you get close to 1680 going back into the packs.

You can use wuick charger but quick charge only charges to 95% not 100% the last 5% DOES take almost as long as to 95%.... So if you want to do that fine but drop your timer and use the 80% rule.

QUESTION- I'm about to purchase a TP charger (the re done) and the balancer... I run 3S packs on my 450SA and I have done a magnificent butcher job   on running (try to keep up) 2 3S packs in series, another 2 3S packs in series and then those two in parallel for my trex 600... its runs fine :WOW .. so far. But charging them takes 1 day on my little ParkZone charger (it only does 1 3S pack at a time) the nice thing is it does all the thinking for me in terms of balancing etc.

Before I get 10,000 hate mails for being a cheapo hack... please could some one tell me what th enenfits of the thunder power an dbalancer are and approx. how long it will take to charge my batteries?

Hi Folks,
I have a Trex 450 that I bought a Hobbico Accucycle charger for. With several TP 2100, 2070s to go. I have lent to me from the hobby shop a TP205v untill they get a 210 in. I'm whating for my Trx 600 to come so I don't want to settle for the 205. The question is: Can I run the balancer while charging even thou there is no data link like the 1010 would have? Or is it better to stick with seperate balancing operations? And also, Is the E-Flight batteries that come with the Blade CPPro compatible with the 205,210?
