Hey guys,

The rumors are true! Since March of 2006, I have been working feverishly on completing a book to condense everything I have learned and practiced since my doors opened. I am proud to announce it is ready! Please click the banner below to visit the book's website for ordering, and to see a few example pages (Flash enabled browsers only). Delivery time is 2-4 weeks right now due to the holidays. I offer my sincere thanks to so many of you who were such an inspiration to this effort. I hope you enjoy it and build your book of business to be greater than you imagined, beginning the new year! Thank you Will James and HeliFreak! -Greg

Way to go Greg! Finally, a single source for all the answers new AP operators are looking for. I think this will be a positive boost for the industry. I know you've put a tremendous effort into this project. I know my time spent with you at your AP conference in August was invaluable because of the photography and business advice you gave me.

When I read some of the previews, in my head it was just like being back on your front porch drinking beer and watching Tommy try to launch the hovercraft!

Great job! Now you need to do a DVD! :smokin:

Hoo boy! I think we have just seen the difference between forums! Here, Greg's excellent initiative on providing us with help on making our AP business better is rightfully rewarded with congratulations. On that other forum, some people who should know better are criticising him for "passing on the secrets"

Give me a break!

Well done Greg, and the cost of your book will no doubt be repaid many times over in improved business practices and making less dumb mistakes because you point out the pitfalls. more power to you, and I know you will sell heaps of copies.

Thank you Tony. Yeah, I don't really understand the negativity elsewhere, but what can I do except keep on truckin'. Merry Christmas! And thank you too Wes, keeping an eye out for your order!

You know, it's refreshing to see the professional attitude here on the Freak and RC Groups.

It's about sharing the knowledge and helping to make each other better. That's why I like it here. Greg's book fits right in with the spirit that makes this forum so successful.

I know I wouldn't be where I'm at without the advice and assistance of many other operators. And it is all appreciated!

I'll be putting a link on my page as well. Greg, do you have a banner logo that you are giving out to those who wish to put up links on their page??

I've set up a new shopping cart on my website to sell my DVD's through. Greg, I'd love to be able to add your book to it for USA orders only at the manufacturer's suggested retail price :D

I can't wait to head to Birmingham and get started on the DVD, it's going to be AWESOME!

With the book and the DVD, anyone who's interested in AP commercially will have all the information they need to start up a business. :D

You should look into making the second book part of the "Dummy" series.

"Low Altitude Aerial Photography for Dummies - Part II"

Just be sure and charge more for overseas shipping!

And I can see another book in the works "How to easily find out which people are d1ckheads". I think you know where to do the research for this one! :D:D:D

Maybe Mark can do a DVD too! :)

Greg,

First off congratulations and thanks! It is always great to see knowledge compiled in a coherent manner. This also helps to validate the AP market - and will ultimately be useful in protecting AP from unreasonable legislation, helping AP businesses obtain insurance, and all sorts of good stuff.

In looking through the sample pages on your site, the book appears to be fairly introductory in nature - kinda 101 material (which isn't a bad thing). Do you have a table of contents or other information about the book you could post? I'm considering ordering, but would like to make sure the book covers some topics in more depth.

Thanks!
Mark

Thank you guys for your support. Gotta start writing my payola checks out soon, eh? Mark in SJ...the book goes very in-depth, and I don't think the table of contents info is going to answer your question enough. There will be plenty of time to order, even after the first wave of buyers receive theirs. I am sure that like anything else, I won't be able to please everyone, and if you have a specific question which needs to be answered, and you don't find it, it may upset you. But I can promise that I packed it full of everything I could think of to help give you the answers you seek. In the coming weeks the critique of the book will be posted by those who choose to, and I would say make your purchase decision based on what they have to say. I will say that one topic I don't cover in depth is photography 101. There are plenty of books on the subject of framing shots, proper camera settings, etc. This book is about knowing how to choose the right equipment for your needs, how to use it, and most importantly, how to market it. Yes, there is basic/elementary information regarding r/c, but that is for the photographers of the world who are interested in getting into the industry. Or for the fixed wing pilot wanting to add a heli to their fleet, or for the heli pilot wanting to add a fixed wing a/c to their fleet.

DJ, can you use the banner shown in the intro post in this forum? If that's too large, feel free to shrink it down as needed. I do have a couple more to choose from, so shoot me an email and we'll sort it out for you. But feel free to use the one shown above!

Tony, you crack me up. Mark, get on the plane man, we got shootin' to do!

Greg
