View Full Version : What recommeded servos for stretched AP raptor?

I'm putting together another Raptor for AP. I'm going with the e550 that I will stretch to use 680-700mm blades. After seeing Scotts (dreslims) low head speed and how smooth it is, that is the route I would like for this ship. Plus the Auto safety factor.

My question is what servos (requirements, torque/speed) should I be looking for?

I'm currently using the 9252's in my current eR50 620 conversion and I'm sure these are some of the best but was hoping that there is other ones that are more affordable for AP/AV work.

Thanks

Anything that centers well. (AKA Digital) You do not really need big strong servos for AP.

I'm using Ace DS 1013s, but I don't think they are any cheaper than the 9252s. Maybe some HiTec digitals?

I'm thinking about the Hitec Digital HS-5475HB

I have HiTec's in my Condor which I have never found to be "lacking" :smokin:

Well, if you are looking for cheap - I have 4 DS821 servos that came with my new DX7 and I'll let them go cheap:

No idea how these would do in the raptor, but they are a standard size servo and they are digital.

I'm using the JR DS821's on my converted raptor. They even survived a boom stirke without any stripped gears.

9252's on one and DS8311's on the other.
