The pinons have shipped to just about everyone. I ran out of set screws for the latest 5 orders...most were Trex 600 Pinions but they will ship out on tuesday.

Email shipping confirmations will go out later this evening. :D

So what order number are the ones you didn't shipped because of set screws problem? I'm #13. By the way you should not keep a #13 on your ordering procedures. Direct from #12 to #14  Hope i will have them...

Thanks again Adrian!

Did you get a shipping confirmation? I would imagine you will get yours tomorrow, if I got mine today.

Everyone who's order shipped should have received an email confimation of shipment.

I just got 1000 setscrews in today so the last few orders (very few) held up by "The Great Setscrew Shortage" are shipping tomorrow.

I second Bob's vote on the twenty three tooth. At least if you have a similar set up. Head speed was definitely better than what I could get with the 24 tooth before running too hot. Adrian great job on the set screw size that is much nicer.

M3 set screws are tiny on a 5mm shaft. I went with the M4 setscrews because there was plenty of room for them and you can really crank down on them. The 2mm hex is also much harder to strip out than the 1.5mm hex in an M3 set screw.

Thrusday I will have more pinons for sale.

received mine today, nice work. Do you think with only 1 set screw the pinion will slip. I don't have a flat spot on my hyperion shaft. I did some hovering and all seemed well.

I don't think it will ever slip. Hardened steel gear and 4mm set screw = Put the crambone on it!

These pinions are much, much harder than aluminum or brass. I used some red locktite and tightened it as hard as I could turn the screw and no stripping or even worry off it stripping.

They also fit the shaft perfectly. Nice and snug and even better than the Hirobo pinions. They are also about .5mm or so wider than the gear so runout is not a problem.

Awsome job Adrian!

Thanks for the support guys. I am really happy you like them. If you can, go to www.revco-rc.com and post a review of the pinons so others can know what they are all about and buy with confidence.

I don't have mine at this moment but they have to cross the atlantic to reach me. This is ironic Adrian. You are making them in Europe, they are very late to arrive and then you send me back the pinions :WOW
"return from where you come!". I hope they will be arrive soon. It would have been a lot faster to ship them directly.

I got to put a quick flight in before it got dark.

I'm not a 3D pilot, so I am going for a good flight time, yet still on the sporty side. I didn't get to tach the HS, but it felt very good with the A30-10XL, 20t pinion and 3700 EVO20 4S pack. I may jump up to the 21t later. The Hacker is a 900Kv motor instead of the Hyperion 815Kv.

It felt very crisp still and had plenty of power. Didn't get to fly the whole pack, but I will this weekend and post some flight times. I should be around 2,700 for a HS with the 20t. The gears mesh perfectly and it was nice and quiet.

Nice having some pinions to play with. :glasses2:

I put a handful of Lepton pinions that I just received on the website. There are not a lot available so act fast.

I got confirmation that my next shipment of gears went off to hardening today. They will ship out Wednesday of next week and be here a week later. I should have plenty for everyone with that shipment.

Hello Adrian,

I received my pinions today. Shape looks very good. But something is curious:

21 and 22T pinions have a dark varying color. Like a highly heated material color.
23T is not as dark the 2 others and color is unvarying. I'm wondering if this 23T has been hardened like the 2 other ones... Could you tell me what you think about this?

Nicolas

The color of the pinions can vary but they are all equally hardened. The color has to do with the company that does the hardening and how well they degrease the pinions before putting them in their ovens. Oil on the pinions will turn them dark.

My pinion supplier gave me the option of having them cleaned and rehardened but I said no as this would add another week to the delivery time.
