Not on purpose unfortunatly! Doing chaos today at about 20 feet I heard a loud SNAP! Came out of chaos knife edge, and violently pitches right, being very un responsive to my controls. So I hit throttle hold and brace for impact, it was going to be UGLY! Somehow I managed to get the heli tail in and landed it nice and soft, no further damage to the heli at all. Went over to the heli to just figure out what the hell happened, and there is no flybar! So I went searchin and found 1 piece of it burried about 3 inches into the dirt and the other part about 30 feet away from that. I took a picture with my phone, once I figure out how to upload it I'll post a pic. What a Close Call, I thought she was toast! Anyone else broke that 4mm flybar in-flight?

which rotor head is on the model, the std extreme head or the newer ultimate 3d head with flybar supports?

Std Extreme head. You can adjust the angle to get max cyclic out of it. I was thinking about the Cage you can put on it. If it had the cage and broke, the one side of the flybar would still have been there and she would have shaked apart. But then again with the cage she might not of snapped at all. There is alot of stress on that flybar right at the grub screw. And Im not nice to the heli, I pretty much beat the crap out of it. Might be time to Upgrade.

I did that once a few years ago when I had my extreme. It is definately scary. The new flybar carrier solves this problem, as there is alot more support further out on the flybar, and breaking flybars are now a thing of the past. I would highly recommend it to help you get back into it with no worries about this happening again.

No kidding, what were you doing when it broke? Land ok? I'm getting the stratus flybar carrier upgrade tomorrow.
