I might think about it, it'd be fun. There's a 500 conversion, I dunno why they couldn't do it on 550.

Could always get a 600N and toss on a 550 boom, supports, and TT as well as 520mm or 550mm mains?
I know the 600N frames are bigger, etc. But from everything I've noticed on the 550, it's mostly just a 600E with shorter boom and slightly smaller frames. Granted I'm still a newb so I most likely missed some other key things.

I will have to disagree.
A lot of the parts are the same but that is it. When you build both you will see the differences. The 600E is a converted 600N. The 600 Pro is an attempt to make a good 600E.
My 2 cents.

Guess Im strange. I was hoping for a os 37 powered 550N. My first heli was a Concept 30 and thought it was a great size. I had a 600N and it was bad ass but constantly buying fuel really took the shine off it. My old concept was 515 blades with a .32 at 6.25 lbs. A Rex 550 with an os 37 swinging 520's and all the new goodies ? SIGN ME UP !!!!!!
