Default New Canopy "ice blue"

I love this new canopy. I saw one at ircha and it looks awesome on the bench and in the air.

Just like they're saying on the otheRR site.... Ludicrous price. They should be ashamed.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that most Mikado Team pilots fly 600's. I did see a blue ice on a 400 so hopefully they have some additional sizes soon.

I am not fond of the price at all. Yes it looks good, but I think $180 is too much to pay for a canopy, custom or not!

I'll stick with around $100 bucks for a canopy!

I'm sick of these complaints every time Mikado offers a new canopy... their price is nothing new....
- it doesn't change anything to complain every time...
- be ashamed because of a price? are you kidding? Anyone asked Ferrari why they sell a simple gas cap which costs 30x more by Ferrari than the same part from Fiat? By the way the same company...
- you don't need to pay that much, just don't buy it.
- I'm not a fan of those German canopies, but I understand their price. It's not a cheap Chinese employee... an employee here in Austria loses 50% of his earnings right before money reaches his account, additionally we pay another 20% (19% in Germany) on everything you buy... any other questions why it's that expensive?
- you don't need to buy from Mikado, you can buy them directly -> http://www.heli-center-berlin.de
- sorry for you outside of Europe, but Euro to USD isn't something cheap. In the past one Euro had less value than one USD. Now you get 1,35 USD for one Euro. Be thankful about that because it helps your export economy but it makes everything else expensive.
Sorry, no offence... but it's not an essential part of our live. It's a hobby...
-Klaus

Wow looks wicked.

I agree with Klaus.

It does look nice although I prefer the yellow flash.

Yep its expensive but I would expect that just because of labor costs alone. Looks to me like allot of man hours to make the canopy's, its not like a machine is making them. Also I'm thinking the German worker is making a bit more than the average salary in China of $150 per month according to this site anyway.

No offense taken Klaus. I agree with your perspective.

The problem is (although it's just a hobby), is that heli types are passionate about their hobby.

There are lots of things in everybody's lives that look good, they want, but can't (or don't want to) afford. We all seem to manage.

But you dangle an expensive canopy in front of a heli type that he wants but can't afford, and he'll go NUTS!!! ...as we've seen in these threads.
