Is the Phoenix RC Simulator compatible with the Spektrum DX7 transmitter? Anyone currently using this setup?

I'm using Phoenix with a converted 6102 JR Spektrum. Your DX7 is in a JR shell. I see no reason for it to not work perfectly. You don't need anything special other than the cord that comes with the simulator. Best part of all the sim works with the radio in the off position so you will get weeks of sim time before needing to charge up. I love this simulator!

I am running Phoenix on a DX7 since last week but have some difficulty getting it to work properly:

Any special settings for the DX7? I get funny random lockouts on the throttle channel and the cyclic is erratic too. If I plug in my FF7 everything works fine so it's not the USB connection.
As there is no PPM setting on the DX7 is there anything else that needs setting up?

Skyline Models (http://www.skylinemodels.co.uk/) have some very good deals on the Phoenix sim with various TX's inc the DX7 so I guess it should work.

I must have had a brain fart :hammer: I still had the CCPM setup as 120 degrees 3 servo's. Set it to normal (1 servo 90 degrees) in the DX7 and it works like a charm!

So, plkoegler, to answer your question: Yes, DX7 is compatible with Phoenix, as long as you set up your swash menu as "normal".
You don't need an adapter, the 3.5mm jack from the Dongle cord plugs straight into the Tx.

I bet you thought you'd lost the ability to fly.

What do you think of Phoenix now you can fly without involuntary 3D manoeuvres?

O, I think it's a great sim! I used Reflex a year but it was just too unstable on my laptop. Sold it for almost the price I payed for it

now you can fly without involuntary 3D manoeuvres?
I thought it was me having too much to drink............

I know it has been a while since this was posted but, what do you mean when you say that it works with the radio in the off position? does this mean that you literally have the main switch in the off position and that the entire radio is turned off, or that there is something internal that is turned off to keep the tx from transmitting a signal?? thanks! --Erik

When you plug into the buddy cord port the radio turns on without turning on the actual radio switch. The display is lit ..... so the radio is ON ...It is not in Transmit mode so there is no transmit power consumption. It is using battery but at a very small amount compared to turning the unit on to activate transmit function. It is a buddy box sending signals down the cord to another transmitter ..... but in this case it is being sent to your computer after some fuzzy logic in that little black box on the cord.
