Trex 600 with A123 cells

rdespins, yea believe it or not I did see that in the vid... Actually I was impressed with the head speed. BUT you have to remember a Logo 10 is a lot less weight than a Trex600... BUT still... not too bad! I remember when I had to test a heli in those kind of conditions.

Anway... I would still like to see more. Spruce cant or is not willing to help so hopefully others will contribute and show one way or the other if these cells can do it or not. That is all I want to see.......

Sure, if someone is asking, "how do I put together a trex 450", we can tell him/her to go look in the video section before asking more questions. For A123, it's far from common knowledge, the mere fact that many people are asking means it isn't something many people do every day. So if you know where it is, why not post it and help out? If you're not going to help, why are you here? Are you here just to show you're so far ahead of everyone else that you have more knowledge about a123 than everyone else? You want to show everyone you are better?

OK when you said 2700 HS I doubted it and it sounded more like about 2200 (and believe it or not I usually can guess it within 50) until he switched into idle 2.... That sounded pretty close but to me only about 2400 or maybe 2500 (too fast BTW I hope those were metal grips!).

Gotta ask though... WHY does the first segment have a "edit" in it?

However, in the second segment you better have that guy check his tach... in the second segment there is NO WAY that is 2700 inj the hover.... sorry.... However later in the flight it sounds good and high but still doesnt sound like 2700....

Last segment flight time 6:22 to ruffly 9:22... Thas only 3 minutes?

BUT bottom line this looks good... MUCH more than I expected!

I know the common wisdom is that it's not a good fit for the 450, but I've read here on the freak that a couple of people seem to like it. I'd really like to hear more.

I'm pretty new here, but actually intended to read something about A123s when going through this thread as I am very interested in them. Check it at the door and lets get back to the topic. :smokin:

Having seen some of these videos, I would be interested in seeing and have pondered building an A123 powered 600 using the Rotorworkz HFE frame.

I am thinking the 1/2lb lighter bird with a pack that is almost 100g lighter (10s X 70g vs 793g) might give a great mix of performance, flight times, and safety.

Hmmm I would too! Since I am a auto king with my 450 at my local field having an extra 150 on board WONT be good! There is already so SMALL a room for error that 150grams wont be fun... BUT Spork I know you have your non-driven tail so that might help ;)

Water mark on the raptor vid is cos its from Gary G (tppacks.com) he is pushing these cells hard in flight to prove they work. He also did a trex with 4s of them.
