I played with it for a while and was going to purchase the USB TX interface when my lovely bride suprised me with realflight g3.5 (whacked expensive).
FMS isn't fancy but it gets the job done. Your main objective is to learn orientation and engrain it until it's reflex (takes 27 days of persistent practice).

ive used it a bit, but i only use it for fun, not for flying practice. i like flying along doing loops and rolls and hovering inverted and everything, but in real life ive only ever hoverd with a hirobo xrb lama, so the sim is fun but it cant be that easy in real life (or on a better sim) can it?

I use it, and I actualy have some heli pano scenes instead of the flat type of plane scenes.
I do not use it realy to learn tricks, but mostly for learing my oriantaions, normal, head in, inverted, etc..

it's coarse, but it's better than nothing. You can use a USB gamepad from wally world or other big-box discount store. Get the one similar to the nintendo gamepad..

have used it. still using it.
i dont want to spend 250-300 on RealFlight. really helped me learn orientations. i havent used any other sim - so cant compare. but this one gets the job done.

I have the FMS but I couldn't get my TX to work with it, so I bought the G3. My computer isn't good enough for the G3, it runs jerky and the graphics are so poor it's hard to tell what's going on. So I use the G3 control box with FMS. The FMS graphics isn't so intense and therefore it runs pretty smooth and I can actually make out the heli... plus I have a "shadow" whereas with the G3 my computer is so crappy it won't do the shadow. I think the FMS is great for the learning basics and getting the reflex conditioned. That's all any sim is good for in my opinion.
