Normally, a receiver is "tuned" to a particular frequency or range of frequencies, right? So, you can't go from a low band channel to a high band channel without retuning it....

But, I have a Futaba R149DP dual conversion Hi-Lo receiver that I picked up and it came with a CH 18 crystal. I can change it to CH 40 since it's a Hi-Lo band model can't I ??

I have swapped crystals in a 149 DP from 11 to 60. Always just range check them to make sure everything is OK.

The new ones are center tuned to the entire band, just like the rest of the mfg's have been doing for years.

I have put high band crystals in what is called low band rx's and vice versa. Never had a problem. I just always range check to make sure there is no loss of range in the range check .
