I flew all afternoon yesterday with a friend and ten minutes into my flying. he helped fix a problem I couldn't fix alone in my inputs on steep bank turns. :D
When I got home the DX7 was on my door step. After 5 hours of rebuilding the front end with a nice new box, the RXs were in, the wires all cleaned up and time to set up the radio. While I've only flown Futaba, I thought I might have some trouble setting it up. Especially with all the mixed comments on the setup. It ended up being easy. The biggest gripes I have is that there is no throttle kill toggle switch, although the auto trim works to kill the engine and you can't program the timer to a switch. I always had the timer start at 15% throttle. Oh well I'll live with it.
Flying with the DX7 is awesome  While I read that others felt more connected to the Heli, I didn't understand the feeling until I flew. The radio responds very well and after a little trimming, it was great. Gyro and GV-1 works fine. So this afternoon I worked on tight, steep banks turns and 8s. After 45 minutes of flying time I went home and to my surprise there was the unobtainable Bergen Muffler at my door. :clappp
Off to the garage to install it. It's on now, but too dark to test it. Also, I'm not sure if I have to wait for the silicon to cure.
What a way to end the year. Heli finally finished, getting better flying and 55 degree weather to fly in. Isn't life grand :woohoo

My muffler made it yesterday. Too bad a stripped 9252 has me down so I can't install it.

Anyway, install, testfly to heat it up, retorque while warm and then the RTV can cure. Otherwise, you'd be breaking the seal created by the RTV between the nuts and studs defeating it's purpose.
