You don't need any software to view the program on your computer. It will just show up as a file.

For updating the software in the transmitter. You load the update to the CF card. You then flip the dip switch next to the card slot on the transmitter. You insert the card and turn on the transmitter. The transmitter will come on and tell you there is an update taking place. Wait till the update finishes. Turn off the transmitter and flip the switch by the card slot back to normal position. That is all there is to it.

You will need a CF card reader on your computer.

You can see that it is a file on the computer. I personally don't know of any way to view or edit the file on the computer. I don't know why anyone would want to edit an update file for the software of the transmitter.

There has only been two updates for the 12Z since it was released to the market.
You can download the two updates for the 12Z from here. All you need to install is the latest version. Be sure to check the version of your software in the transmitter and see if it is the latest before you install anything.
The latest version is
Editor/Encoder: V. 1. 0. 4 / V. 1.31

You can find the above in the information menu of the transmitter is the System menu.

You can find the update files at the link I gave you above. There has only been two updates to the 12Z. Also the updates are available on the Futaba Flyers Club.

You have to be a registered member to access the above.

Yes the only way to view model files at this time is on the transmitter. But you can store them on your PC by using the CF card to transfer them to the PC.

David- i found those updates on the address you gave right after i posted. Does updating software effect any model programs stored in the tx, should i copy them to the CF card b4 update? I never got any sort of Futaba Flyers Club info with my tx, do i even need it?
I've found this radio's learning curve to be getting much better, however without help like yours may it not have happened.Once again Thank You.

No updating does not affect any models stored in the transmitter. I keep my models stored on the CF card. You can add the updates to the card also with the models stored on it.

Truthfully you can find information on the forums quicker than the FFC. You should have gotten the FFC membership material in your radio box if you bought it new. They will also send you a nice Futaba shirt with your name embroidered on it when you mail in the card to join.
