To start off I'm not trying to start a war here. All I would like to know is if anyone has used both of these engines in a true side by side comparison and what your experiences were. (I have both a NIB YS 50ST and a used OS 50 Hyper and I just bought another NIB OS 50 Hyper. I am waiting for the Razor to get here before I even crank the NIB YS or the NIB Hyper)

Where are you getting your YS50 engines? From what i hear they are impossible to get here in the states.

Did you buy the YS 50 recently or have you had it for a while? They have been pretty scarce for the last 12 months. I don't think the USA distributor for YS has ever had any of the YS 50's.

I just got mine about a week ago. Just keep checking the CyberHeli website and they will post when they will be getting more in. I prepaid so I would be in line and I got mine pretty fast.

I've had a YS50 since last March in a Raptor 50. Havn't had a single problem or aggravation with it. It's the same as my larger YS--- basically set and forget. I have a Zimmermzn muffler on it because at that time it was the quietest muffler available. It has enough power to run 600 mm blades above 2000 with 11 degrees collective and 5 1/2 degrees cyclic pitch. I don't use this much headspeed so I've reduced the throttle curve to 75% opening, or about 1850 rpm.
This engine has been so good that I've never tried an OS Hyper. I too have been waiting to try it in a Razor------

Hi Jim
I know that this threat is a bid old, but I have just got a YS50 on it's way and will install it into the R50SE. Have you had to modify anything to make it fit?
