What's the best way to go about removing ball links without ball link pliers? I know I should have some, and I plan to get some soon, but is there another good way to do it without just using your fingers? (I'm setting up a T-rex ccpm head, so I need a good way to remove them without destroying them) Thanks!

Right tool for the right job...

I can't think of any other way. I suppose you could use needle nose, but I fear that would stress the ball link. Maybe hemostats, but same problem with those as well....

Does anyone know if there is a way to make your own? (or something like it that will do the job)

i just use my fingers and push on both sides of the ball link. it dosent take much force so its not breaking them (i hope).

Fingers work best if you don't have ball link pliers, but it's hard on the fingers after a while.
