I am looking to buy a new set metric of hex drivers with the color coded handles but the 1.5mm is always so loose in the bolt heads that I am wondering if anybody might know of one company or another who's quality is the very best, I would like to as an example here say that my 1.5 mm hex driver measures 1.45 mm across two of the flats and 1.46 across the third observation. This one always is a loose fit and at risk of stripping so does anybody have a set of mic's so we can compare ???

my personal experience is that 1/16" SAE is almost always a better 'fit' for 1.5mm. Nice and snug w/o the probability of stripping it out. And use a small handled wrench so you can't over-torque. I have the small red aluminum Dynamite wrench.

My favorite is the Integy Ti-Nitride Wrench Hex 1.5mm (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKTJ1&P=SM)

It is by far the most snug fitting 1.5mm hex driver I have ever used. So much so that it is sometimes hard to get into some lower quality 1.5mm bolts for the first time. It's very high quality and I can't imagine not having it. I actually have the whole set of Intergy drivers and recommend them highly!

Intact,

Hehehe... Yeah, we really do seem to approach things in a pretty similar way. Interesting to see another person using these Ti-Nitride drivers. I've watched a number of "best tools" threads go by and never seen them mentioned. Wiha and Align tools seem to get a lot of love, but I don't think they've got anything on Integy drivers. I do use Wiha screw drivers though.

I think I'm liking these better. Especially since you can get the replacement bits for only $3.79

Though, from other post, I have read that the mip thorp is the cat's meow. Oh, and there was an article about the mip in one of the heli magazines that I read about a week ago...//

I ended up ordering a set of integy's as I had an old set years ago and loved them but sold them with a car racing stuff sell out deal and regreated it. They were certainly good back then, hope they are still as good as they used to be. I might just order a single Thorp/MIP from tower the next time I order stuff, to leave on the bench in the shop.

Thanks guys.........

Integy is popular with the surface R/C crowd!! Cars and trucks. I have alot of integy tools, including setup boards etc.

I've found brands that are popular vary with specific crowds. The r/c car+truck crowd is richer and larger so the products are usually good. MIP is awesome too.

Most of what we see in the heli market now are cheap knock-offs of everything. Receivers, chargers, kits even,

I ended up buying my Integy drivers at the local hobby shop when I striped out the little hex keys that came with my first helicopter kit. At the time I balked at the price of the set, but now I would buy them again in a second! That shop caters to the car and truck crowd, so I would imagine that's why they stocked them.

If you looking for the best these are it Hudy, most tools are knock off's of the Hudy brand.

On crpearson.s recommendation, and while I was in the LHS, I picked up the Integy. It was the same price as tower so why not. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it does look like quality.

Hudy is over-rated because they are over-priced. I have a lot of their tools from before I tried integy stuff.

If you have an integy set to compare, you'd see that they're the same quality. I like using the integy stuff better for good reasons..

I prefer how the integy feels better in your hand! Really smooth but the large notches give you good grip. Integy also color codes different driver sizes by anodizing the grips too.

I wouldnt recommend hudy unless you just wanna have black tools, burn cash and have issues figuring which is which..

But anyways,, good choice darmie!

Believe it or not my favorite hex tools are the Align tools! They are slightly enlarged and seem to fit Align screws the best! My set is now probably 3 years old and still going strong.

I would believe. The allen wrenches that come with the kits are pretty good. Just too easy to misplace!

I've tried the 0.9mm align tool and it is definitely a better fit compared to a wiha tool i bought for the same job. The wiha rounded on the first try cause it was too small..

I like MIP the best. I also like Align new driver with the socket release. I have a set of MIP, Align old drivers, Aligns new drivers, Hudy, and Intergy.

I would put them in this order

MIP
Align
Hudy
Intergy

But all of these as pretty good.

I use a flat head to do the hex job. avoid rounded hex and damage screw. somehow it works.

I use Losi hex drivers from the world of RC cars. Excellent tools imo. Never broke one never stripped a screw, yet...;)
