Would any one know what the difference between Air Plane Helicopter and Rc Car motors are? I just don't know and didn't know if any one knew?

Their really is no diffrence in them. Motors are catagorized by type(brushed or brushless), size, kv rating and # of poles. The size and kv rating are usually what determines what application it can be used in.

How about nitro?

oops I had electric on the brain. The car plane and heli nitro motors are very diffrent.
Heli motors have a large head for cooling and diffrent carbs usually than plane motors
Plane motors have a standard head
Car motors are designed for very high rpm's and are usually small .12-.21 in size.

I was not thinking electric motors until you answered the question the first time; I thank you for thinking that way the first time.

Ok I have another question can you get a OS 46 FX air plane motor and put a OS 46 FXH head on it and it is them a heli motor? I am just seeing if there are any cross over parts. Here is a link to the head.
ps can I link any site to my post or is there a site that I shouldn't or somthing like that?

The carb is diffrent on the heli version as well. I believe the rest is the same but not 100% sure.
Linking to other sites is ok just make sure they are appropriate.

May I ask what is the difference between the carburetors?

The aiplane version of the 46 fx uses a remote needle valve mounted at the rear crank cover to protect your fingers from the prop. It is a 40c carb

The heli version uses a needle valve mounted to the carb body. It is a 40b carb

I also believe there are internal diffrences in the carbs other than the needle valve locations.

The shaft might be longer on airplane motors too, which could give you problems when you try to mount it in a helicopter, even if you did change the head and carb. Might be better to get a heli engine in the first place :).
