Happy New Year to all.

I've decided to sell my Bergen Intrepid Gasser since I have not been able to develop the ability to prevent it from loosening screws and breaking fan shrouds and main gears, despite all the great help I've received. This is of course a refection of me, and not of the fine machine I am selling.

I've put an ad on the classified, and I'd like to hear ways people have succesfully sold these machines. Suggestions which have worked for others would be appreciated. Feel free to PM or email.

Thanks,

Gigi

Should I part it out? Some folks seem to want specific pieces of it...

The only drawback to that is shipping. I was planning on paying the shipping since I am overseas, but if I need to pay for the shipping of sub-assemblies and miscellaneous parts, that's going to put a major dent in the expected income from the sale of this machine...

Looking for opinions,

Regards,

Gigi

Part of that help was to try to get you to use the machine as it was designed (1200 Headspeed just won't work)

I guess figure out want you need to get for it $ wise and go from there.

Understanding that you bought this bird used may play in your figures as well.

First step: list your prices.

Bergens are good machines but, even used, we all know they're not cheap - so don't be afraid to list what you think are fair prices for what you want to sell. It probably won't take long to learn whether the market thinks your prices are fair.

There are those of us who dream of one day owning a Bergen, but won't get involved in a bidding war for one.

Before buying my EB new, I tried unsuccessfully to pick up a used one. The would sell before I could make the deal. This might be a tough time of year to move it following the holidays. You might do better in a month or two.

And, much as most of us don't like it, ebay does seem to move heli's quickly and at a good price. Every one I ever bid on went for rediculiously high prices. Almost new prices!

Guys, thank you for the feed-back, which is appreicated as usual.

Chris, I've never run my Intrepid below 1,650 rpm, per your advice. I may have wanted to hover it at 1,500, but never did. I never run it above 1,800 rpm either.

Graeme, I had listed my prices the first time I had posted the machine. I will do so again, as I think you're right.

Markwebber, I will definitely put it on eBay. Actually, I had thought about doing it, but didn't because when I did the search, I found mostly toy helis on it.

Thanks, and Happy New Year! :D
