View Full Version : Why not be odd about it?

I notice everyone tends to do even numbers of cells. I don't see any reason not to do odd numbers. I have a new Razor. While I plan to run it as a 10s setup, there is no reason I could not run 11s. If I got a 6s and 5s pack to run in series, that would do it. Of course, one pack will be slightly heavier but, that can be adjusted for. I plan to charge my two seperate packs on a seperate charger+balancer anyway so, charging won't be an issue.

It can't help but remind me of the famous line from This is Spinal Tab where Nigel Tufnel says Cause ours go to eleven.

If you want just that little bit of extra oomph but, you don't want to rework the power system for the higher voltage, why not go odd on the cell count.

I could see guys running a stock TRex 600 on 7 cells. Most likely the stock motor and ESC can handle that. Of course, you do so at your own risk.
