Futaba you are a few weeks too late! I went out and bought a Mikado Mini V-Bar which is working great! It is a one piece mini unit and it programmed from my PC. And it too has S-Bus support!!!
You couldn't tell me three weeks ago that it would be coming out??? I most likely wouldn't have waiting so long anyway!
SHAME ON YOU!

Competition is a good thing. Without it the mini vbar may still have been EUR400.
As for the mini V, they will have to pull it from my cold dying hands…it’s that good and proven…I hate being a beta tester so don’t see myself using anything but the mini V until another brand has taken the lead and proven to be better.

Ill tell you why I like that box being attached to the sensor.
It means that I can set it up and make adjustments without a laptop.
That works for me as I have forgotten to take the laptop to the field more than once.

I really doubt that there will be many issues with this unit when it is released unlike the TotalG or Sookum units. (I'm not saying that these are bad units just that they needed some tweeking after the initial release. Even your precious vbar didn't exactly hit a home run the first time up to the plate.) Many flybarless "features" have already been incorporated into the GY701, including a governor that responds to pitch, cyclic and yaw commands as they are input, and the flight reports for that unit are that it preforms fantastically.
Either way, more competition can only benefit us, the end users, by lowering the price, increasing the quality and pushing the technology of RC heli avionics.

Nope, it was flawless out of the box. I have both v4 and v5 mini v's running on my TDR's and they are perfect.

Totally agree and that's why I like competition.

I believe he is talking about the 3.1... days. The Vbar has improved greatly over the last couple of years. We had tons of problems to work out back in the day.
