Hey guys,

We are having another 'impromptu' funfly on January 20th, 2007 at the 'Crossroads' in Palm Bay, FL. Our events are completely unstructured, so it is a perfect time to come together for some tuning and testing.

Everyone is welcome, so bring your planks and helis for a good time.

If you've never flown at the "compound",.. it's an experience. You can basically fly knee-high as far as you can see. General developement corporation cleared hundreds of acres of land, put in streets, planned a huge subdivision, then went bankrupt. A few people own lots there, a couple of them are modelers,..hence the access we have.

Will there be a frequency board or impound?
I'd love to try and make it down.

Looks like Steven and I are going to try and make this one, I'm flying back home from Cheltenham, MD the night before but we should be able to come.

There will indeed be a frequency board, but no impound. The field is not sanctioned by the AMA, but we would request pilots follow the same rules as if you were flying at sanctioned field. Our only involvement is to set a date to meet and provide a frequency board, some shelter, and some drinks.

We are planning to set up some pilot stations, and there is plenty of room for the airplanes and helis to fly simultaneously.

Hope you can make it Scott!

You guys are too much! It is a good thought though, because this place is really secluded without much around. When you are driving in, there is plenty to pick up.

Actually, we had thought about doing something for lunch, but we have no idea how many people will show up. So, for the meantime BYOBL and we will supplement.

Is this the field is out where the housing development never got developed? All the streets are in and paved but no houses in sight? If that is the field I have been out to a couple of times when visiting GW. Your correct, it is at least 10 miles to any place to eat.

Great place to fly thou. Can fly in any direction with no obstructions as I remember.

That's the place leadbelly

If you and Jan want to take a little vacation drive on down. I've been out of that ratty apartment for 8 years now,.. so you'd have a decent place to stay this time <G>

Ah, so it's another one of Florida's under developed developments...I used to fly on one in Central FL when I was a teenager..Silver Springs Shores just SE of Ocala.

Lotsa roads, no houses, flat land all around. Kool.

I witnessed Bobby's mad attempt to 're-stripe' the road with white blade tips...

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
