Does anybody know if this freeware program is capable of recognizing a real transmitter? I would like to be able to use my E Flite controller from my Blade CP Pro.

Go to the FMS Web Page. Then to the links button on the left side.
Scroll down a bit and there are several links to (Commercial Radio-Interfaces/Radio-Joysticks).
A couple of years ago I found plans to build an interface for my JR.

Here is a link.

Just a warning... Lots of folks have been frustrated trying to make and use the serial links (although I'm sure some have had good luck as it sounds LLB757 has). I just picked up the USB interface cable, and have had great luck. The USB cable works great with real transmitters.
Try www.milehighwings.com for one.
Edit:
All other transmitters, including E-flite/E-Sky "Channels Six", are compatible with FMS, ClearView, CockpitMaster, and RC Plane Master.

I agree with Spork, the USB interface from milehighwings makes it easy and reliable.

Spork is correct, Get the USB interface!!
When I first built the serial interface I had "Glitches". It took some time and a bit of carefull shielding to get rid of them.
It was $10 in parts for the serial, Or $35 to buy the prebuilt USB. The USB is a Much better interface.

Doing a little searching & I just found "SmartPropoPlus" It is a small software add on that allows you to use a Trainer Cord if you have one. Plugs into the the Mic or Line-In on your sound card, and the software detects your transmitter. I just hooked it up to my JR8103 and it seem to work well. I had a little trouble configuring it, but thier web page has a step-by-step section that worked out my problems. Up and flying in about 20 Min.
How can you beat a patch cable for free!!

Thanks for the info about the patch.....I've been flying FMS for over a year due to lack of funds for G3.....Its great to be able to finally fly FMS on my new laptop that lacks a 25-pin printer port....I normally fly on my old PC with the PPJOY printer interface, now I fly on the laptop with a michropnhone interface!!
Thanks again!!!!! :D
