Whats a good/decent but not top of the line, you know good all around servo setup for a Rappy .30 v2? I currently have a Futaba S9254 on the tail w/ GY401 gyro. The rest of the servos are JR DS537s which spec out at like 40oz and .24 for speed. I am running 4.8v because of the S9254 requirements. My servos are so slow and weak. I can hear them moaning with out the heli even moving.

OK, I just searched the forums and seems like the Futaba 9252s are the going option. Heard they are about the best even for a .50. How do they hold up to crashes with plastic/nylon geartrain?

Does hitec make a comparable metal gear servo with about the same specs and price or maybe a better option?

Im also running a stock JR 1100 Ni-CD Pack that runs dead real quick with that 9254 running the tail. I can see the lights on my voltwatch dim when I hit the tail pitch. I plan on soldering 4 of the new energizer Ni-MH 2500s AAs together in a flat 4 config like my stock JR pack.

This is my opinion. Just buy a Duralite or similar receiver battery and never worry about it again. It's worth the investment.

OK, how about the servo situation? Are my stock ones good enough or should I upgrade?

I been using 9252's in my Raptor 50V2 for three years with no problems, as far as the geartrain goes replacement gearsets are only $6.99.

I second the 9252's. On a Raptor I've never stripped a gear set, on my 90 ccpm all three went when it hit.

9252s are the common set up, 9251 are the overkill BEST set up i think.

Ace servos are another option, digital and MG too.

Hitec 6965's for the tail, cyclic , collective, EVERYTHING. Will work with 401, Karbonite gears are bangin' :smokin: One servo , all jobs . Also takes 6v if thats your thing.
