Just bought someones project that was never flown. Logo 10 carbon with all the goodies. :glasses2:
My plan is to make this a dedicated AP ship and I'm wondering if I should keep the motor/power setup or change it. The heli currently has:
Hacker C50-13L
Castle Creations Phoenix 80
4S4P 8000mAh LiPo
I know people have complained about Hacker motors running hot, but I've never seen someone mention running a Logo at this low a voltage. Should I keep this setup or change it? Guess I could split the Dewalt 10 cell packs into 5S2P and use them with this motor/speed controller.
Thanks,

I'd keep the Logo, but ditch the power system. That setup is at least 4 years old, and terribly inefficient.

Thanks Gary. So what is the recommended power set up for AP with the Logo 10? Should I change the ESC too, or just the motor/battery combo?

Since you mentioned using a123 cells, I'd highly recommend using a single 10-cell a123 pack, pretty much right out of a DeWalt pack, and either a Z30A-800 or a NM 1910-1.5Y. You'll need a new controller though, like the Phx HV 45.

Z30..... Z30...... Z30....... Z30..........
is it becoming clearer which motor to use??
Z30..... Z30....
My Z30A-1110 motor runs about 25° above ambient and is hauling around a 10lb Logo. I love it!
Ditch that Hacker... they were ok back in the day but times have changed and Hackers only belong in airplanes these days

Thanks DJ, I think it is starting to become clear.
Actually, I have been trading PM's with Gary trying determine when he will have more Z30A-800's (I plan to try the A123 packs).
I'll be placing the C50-13L, Phoenix 80, and TP 4S4P 8000mAh LiPo up for sale once they show up. This was part of an uncompleted project I bought off a fellow Freak and the motor has never been run (so I'm told). The battery has never had a connector soldered on (again, so I'm told). Once I have it in my hands and can verify the condition I'll post it in the FS area - but if anyone is itching for this stuff for what ever reason, send me a PM.
