Is it possible to use my own Tx with Realflight G3? I tried the controller that came with G3 and it felt like a toy. Is there an adapter of some sort so I can use my own Tx?
I searched around on ebay and it seems if I get RealFlight G2 non interlink version, I can buy an adapter to do this. How much of an improvement did G3/3.5 have over G2? Any difference big enough that will prevent me from getting a "proper" simulation training?

G2 is how a lot of the pros fine tuned. It works, but G3 is physically a lot better.
I have tried my own TX on G2 with the interlink and it worked. Never used anything but the interlink on G3.

G3 comes with adapters for JR and Futaba style connectors, so you can use your own radio (I used 14mz on G3 fealt alot better).
you can even use the multiplayer function if you use your radio, so two people can fly one with interlink and the other with the radio.
good luck.

you just plug your TX in the back of the G3 controller with one of the supplied cables.

Does the controller have to be on? I would assume not.

Tx doesn't have to be on, it works like a buddy box

Really? I have found I had to turn mine on.. .I also made an airplane model and chose PPM like the manual said to... If I have my TX off I end up with it detecting my controller, but with it being disabled in the menu.... any tricks? It also shows less channels than I have. I'm using a Futaba 9CHPS.
