I would also worry about the load on them with no ability to balance the camera weight. Normal mounts at least make some effort to get a camera CG something like neutral

They appear to only weigh one pound.

I bought some, but never used them for anything. The pan servo is huge! This is not a light setup at all.

Can the servo's be exchanged for another type/size? or is all the weight in the unit itself?

I believe the design itself is the problem, as I cannot see how tilting the camera in any direction won't put big loads on the system, which probably explains the need for big servos. If you fitted small servos, I suspect they would be overwhelmed. I don't think it is a coincidence that just about all camera mounts I have seen make a real attempt to counter-balance camera weight.
The concept would be great for D/L cams however, but you really want them to point in the same direction of the main camera

these are more for ground based robot applications and not aerial. the form factor is not something easily mounted to a helicopter or airplane for that matter.
We're considering putting on on the end of our 12' jib arm at the studio... perfect for that application.

Actually they work exellent, you do have to do some minor engineering to get them perfect. I have built a mount with the gear driven and also have built one with the direct drive. As far as the big servos you can get the pan unit with the standard size servo, when built with the high end digitals the units are very good.
