I do not have a Stinger but know a few folks with them. They seem pretty happy with them. My buddy just bought one. I can let you know in a few weeks after he finishes putting it together.

flew my stinger 50 for the first time last weekend. I thought it handled good.
I am going to get it inverted this weekend and put it through the paces.
So far it is well worth the money, no hassles here.

Just flew my Stinger 50 for the first time over the holidays and WOW I am impressed. Had a few minor build issues but so far things are great and well worth the money.

I've had my stinger 50 for about a year and a half, and I love it....I put my heli through the hardest 3d that I'm capable of and it handles it with ease....the heli seems to be holding up very well...The parts and upgrades, are very reasonably priced so thats a plus for me.... I've owned a rappy 50 also and the gohbee is just as nice in my opinion....

Wrenfler82 flies at the same field that I do, I can't remember any issues that kept him on the ground. He fly's the snot out of it! BigAl also flies a Stinger 50 and recently a Stinger 90. Same story, flies great with no more problems than you would have with anything else.
I have a Stinger 50 that I hope to put in the air this summer, can't wait.
Oh, wrenflyer82 was brave enough to let me fly his a few weeks ago...........THANKS!  :D :D :D :D We was a brave soul indeed! :smokin: :noteworthy

I have a 50 that had some minor issues such as the clutch hanging up and stripped the main gear last Friday.
But I think the stripped gear came from all the power!!!
For the money you cant beat them, I have a raptor 50 that stays home now as a back up.
The Stinger 50 is alot quicker.

I have a 50. It flies great. BUT... My main gear stripped in flight, and later my one way clutch locked up. I took the one way clutch shaft out of the one way clutch and a roller fell out. This after about 2 months of hard flying. These problems are easily fixed by replacing the main gear, pinion, one way clutch, and one way clutch shaft with Raptor parts. $43 Not a big deal.
Two of my flying buddies had the same issues, we got our machines in August.

I really like my machines. I'd say i put them through their paces and they have held up. I have had main gear problems, one bird but it threw two in a row, but the rappy gear solved that atleast until the next batch of harder gears come in. You obviously have checked out the site and know the prices, compared to others on the market. Between the purchase price and costs of keeping them in the air they beat anything else on the market in my opinion.

We've been testing the latest version of the Stinger 50 with very good results. One one way issue (we thought) but after replacing it the next flight the engine lost power.. battery failsafe kicked in. We were flying it so much we ran the battery dead.. DOH!
A huge improvement over the original release, and the older kits. The head is much tighter and as a whole the machine flies awesome!

I really couldnt paint either , but have started to enjoy it since the fiberglass canopies came out. So long as you prep them well the take paint really nice . The difference between a good paint job and a bad one??, about three sheets ofsand paper!!

I bought a gravity fed touch up gun off I think ebay for like 30 ish shipped. I keep it clean and use the Fascolor paints and a two part automotive clear . The 1.2 nozzle does a pretty decent job with the clear so long as I open the volume up. Think I might get another gun with a 2.0 nozzle. I use the HVLP touch up gun . Never know you might end up enjoying the paint process, that was a pleasant surprise for me. :D

OHIOBOWHUNTER,
Thanks for the comment on the paint. Yes, I shot it myself. I am really not much of a painter but if I fiddle with it long enough and buy enough sand paper and paint I can eventually get one fairly nice.
I also use a gravity feed touch up gun but I honestly think it still puts out way too much paint for a canopy. One of these days I may try one of those little tiny air brushes that you can buy for fairly cheap. I think that would work better than the touch up gun.
